David De Gea has
joined us from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth around £18million. The 20-year-old goalkeeper passed a medical this week and has agreed a five-year deal. His arrival takes our boss Alex Ferguson's spending past the £50m mark this summer after the signings of English pair Phil Jones and Ashley Young.
In an exclusive interview with MUTV, De Gea said that “When a club the size of Manchester United comes in for you it obviously makes you happy, it’s a great privilege to be part of a club like United and I'm keen to do my best and show what I can do.”
The young stopper, who was part of Spain’s victorious squad at the UEFA European Under-21 Championships last weekend also play an important role in Atletico Madrid win during the European Super Cup 2010 against Inter Milan when he manage to save a 90th penalty from Diego Milito.
